this leadership position is responsible for all aspects related to planning, directing and achieving desired goals of the credit risk management function for the association. Directly leads the Commercial Finance Group, Capital Markets Finance Group, Mission Related Finance Group, Special Assets Group and Residential Lending Group to ensure the overall financial success of the association. Must be a results-oriented, achievement driven individual, capable of fully organizing and leading a professional credit division.
Accountability: Above all else, must have a demonstrated history of achieving articulated risk management and business development goals through sound leadership and professional personnel management practices. Has direct accountability for maintaining a professional credit risk management platform, including the implementation of policies, processes and controls and reporting metrics and measured by excellent credit administration review results. Has direct accountability for compliance with all regulatory and consumer lending programs including truth-in-lending, equal credit opportunity, and Farm Credit borrower rights. This accountability also extends to compliance with the General Financing Agreement or other contractual agreements that may be in effect. Has absolute accountability for ensuring a highly motivated and talented credit staff capable of achieving business plan credit directives and association goals.
Requisite skills: It is essential for the incumbent to have highly developed credit risk identification, credit structuring, underwriting, workout solution and negotiation competencies from which to lead, organize and direct business related groups. Must be able to demonstrate well honed skills in all facets of communication including presentations, written management narratives and reports, personnel appraisal documentation and the use of state-of-the-art electronic communication mediums. Must be highly organized and thoroughly familiar with sound personnel management practices, including compensation plans, motivational and coaching techniques, mentoring and staff development programs, recruitment, behavioral modification and other aspects of human resource administration. Must be capable of assuring sound credit quality and credit administration practices and achieving articulated risk management and business related financial goals. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or Agricultural Economics will be considered. MBA or advanced education is preferred and desirable. Solid history of ethical behavior and integrity is essential with impeccable business and personal references. Knowledge of and ability to effectively organize and implement sound credit control practices and approval processes. Proven leadership and communication skills demonstrated by at least 10 years of experience in direct commercial lending and credit administration, including 5 years in a leadership position. Knowledge of agricultural lending and Farm Credit regulations is beneficial. Direct experience in structuring large corporate and syndicated transactions and related servicing processes, including secondary market activities and public finance transactions. Must be able to travel and work effectively while outside the office environment on a fairly routine basis.
